Just recently I feel like I have nailed my style and that is because I have decided to keep it simple. I have started to think more wisely about my clothing purchases and have been buying a few investment pieces. I bought myself a pair of AND/OR jeans in the Summer, these jeans have really been the starting point for transforming and building up my wardrobe. I feel confident in them, they suit and flatter my figure. But also they are easy to wear and you can really style them up to achieve a chic look. A good pair of jeans is a must for your wardrobe. I’ve struggled with jeans for years and lost confidence in them, but I am so happy I have found a pair that suits my body shape.
I have started to think more about the colours I wear before I would wear such a variety. But then, I would find that I often did not have things that went together-because my wardrobe was so diverse in colour. I have really gotten into Autumn colours and am loving browns, oranges, blacks and golden tones. But I think the key to easy style, is to pick a colour palette that you love and get yourself some key pieces.
Coats and blazers can really freshen up the same look. In this blog post, I am wearing the same jeans and jumper in both pictures. But by adding a coat, it has really changed up the look. It looks completely different.
Sunglasses, you know I would only usually wear these on holiday. But recently I am wearing them a lot and there are a couple of reasons for this. They really dress up an outfit and make you feel good. The second reason is, that I spend a lot of time having my picture taken and there have been many times that I have got a great shot but my eyes are shut or I am looking the wrong way or half blinking. So for photographic reasons they are a lifesaver. Sunglasses in this blog post, all from Debenhams in store.
Also, I have invested in a designer handbag- initially I wanted a Mulberry bag, but then discovered the Italian brand The Bridge. This handbag is like my baby (yes I am in love with it), I never thought I would buy a designer handbag, but I am so pleased I have. It totally sets off an outfit, when I have it with me I feel confident and it gives me so much joy. I picked one that I thought would be timeless and a colour that would go with most things.
I would love to hear your thoughts on keeping style simple?
